This driveway project was about creating additional parking for the home owners. A low maintenance design.
This customer wanted a landscaping project. Firstly, we started off preparing the groundwork with our digger. Using concrete footings and retaining panels for the earth. Patio paving slabs are used for the egress. Side fencing erected. The top of the garden was landscaped to provide a seating area which overlooked the harbour. This area was cut out and embanked on a section of railway sleepers, a very popular choice with our customers. The sub base and sand laid, which matching patio slabs. Sleepers were used as steps.
Our customer wanted a Pergola on this hardstanding area. We erected the Pergola and added paving and plants. A very attractive spot for relaxing. The garden was on a steep incline, therfore, we made tiered sections up the garden and set out for a patio seating area.
This fence and garden (Below) was rather neglected over the years. You can see from the following pictures examples of how we can really transform such areas into somewhere you can spend a lot of time relaxing.

Brick or Block paving is very versatile. They look great on driveways and will provide a long period of service. They can be used to great effect as paths, or patios, or mixed with other paving types to create a unique feature. Considered as an alternative to the more traditional Tarmac surfacing for roads and do look a lot more attractive. Otherwise known as flexible paving, indicating that the blocks or bricks are laid on a sand bed and the joints filled with a fine sand. We work to BS 6677 for clay blocks and for concrete blocks BS6717. BS7533 is the standards we apply to the construction of the projects, which cover light use and heavy use respectively.

All block paving for driveways should be laid in a fully inter-locked pattern. The most popular such patterns are 45° or 90° Herringbone patterns. However, the other patterns are quite suitable for light usage such as pathways or patios. Whatever the purposes, we can help you choose the type of block, colour, style, decoration, shape and texture to fit in with the style of your garden and property.
